STS Workout Overview

STS features three mesocycles, each lasting four weeks. Each mesocycle is designed to stimulate your muscles and body in a different way.
The STS program is designed to be simple and easy to use. Every STS DVD is numbered so that you can easily identify which DVD you will need for that days workout.
Each week combines exercises you have done in the previous weeks with totally fresh exercises that you havent done before. This way you always have some exercises that you are familiar and more comfortable with and new exercises that will keep your bodys muscles always guessing and challenged in new ways.
You will notice that every workout in the STS series has an information bar located at the bottom of your screen that will appear at the beginning of every break and will then disappear once the break is over. The information bar will always display how much time is left before the next exercise begins and will tell what the next exercise is as well as what equipment you will need. Other information like percentage of one rep max, reps and targeted muscle groups will also be displayed.
Mesocycle 1
Mesocycle 1 is all about muscle endurance. You will lift weights that are 6070% of your 1RM during these four weeks. Each week will feature a different workout for every muscle group. Your rep range will be around 15 reps or more for most exercises, but to total failure for many others like push ups, pull ups and band work. This cycle is divided into three muscle groupings with four workouts per grouping:
#1 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps
#2 Back and Triceps
#3 Legs
These nonstop workouts are sure to test the endurance of even an advanced exerciser and feature training concepts like drop sets, 21s and rest periods of 3045 seconds between exercises. You will do one set for each muscle group and have only about 30 seconds of rest before moving on to the next body part.

How can I TONE up my legs and butt?

I weight 125 lbs, standing 5’5 tall, have a 23 inch waist.
I was just wondering what type of exercises can I do, to make my legs firm and strong and also perk up my butt a bit more?

Thanks a lot!

In all honesty? Please do not go out and buy some machine you think will work. It won’t.
I feel you on toning. Personally? I run everyday and I’m 5’4, 110. (I have on freaking clue on my waist size but I have a thin waist and a nice butt, at least thats what I’ve been told)

Here is the key. Don’t "not eat". It takes weight right out of your as and boobs. Eat healthy meals and do LUNGES. lunges are when you put your hands on your hips and bend one knee down so your kneeling. you look kinda like your about to propose. and hold it there! keep doing them maybe 4 times in 30 set intervals every other day. And run. Run a good mile everyday. Even if you need to walk some of it, it will help w. the legs and overall body proportioning. Lastly. Do butt squeezes. It sounds ridiculous (and looks that way 2) 1 a day, where ever, whenever. Just squeeze your gluts on a beat of squeeze and out. Do it like 25 times each day and youll see progressize results.
any questions, ive got ALOT of exercises so let me know 🙂

How can I get great looking legs?

I am a teen (15 years old) and am wondering how i can get great looking legs. My legs aren’t bad though I am actually comfortable with them I am skinny but you can see muscle behind my thighs and calf but still I want to increase a bit of volume maybe even gain some fat? Well I want to wear lots of dresses and skirts this spring and am already working out. Anybody have any diet or exercise ideas? If its possible also some for my arms. But other than that I love my abs and my shape. Thanks!!!

You’re in luck, Jennifer. People who ask the opposite of what you asked are looking for "spot reduction," which doesn’t exist…but adding size to a certain area DOES exist. Fat…well, you can’t tell where the fat will go. That’s up to your body. But you can add size to your legs with muscle. Here are some leg exercises for you to do:

Squats
Deadlifts
Sissy Squats (not for sissies!)
Sumo Squat
Lunge
Rear Lunge
Walking Lunge
Calf Raises

While you’re at it, throw in the Power Clean. It’s an Olympic Lift, and those are fabulous for adding size and strength all over. At the end of this answer, I added some youtube links so you can see how to do these. There are many people that will post their stuff on youtube trying to be Mr. or Ms. Cool Personal Trainer, but the problem is that not all of these are shown correctly. I looked up ones that I thought were the most informative so you know how to do these. Like any exercise, if you don’t use proper form, you will end up hurting yourself…or at least not seeing the results you could.

For all of these, start without weights so you can get the movement down. For the Power Clean and Deadlift, use just the bar without weights added. This lets you feel the movement. Once you get used to the positioning, then you can start adding in weights.

Exercising a 14 year old lab with hip / back leg problems and a heart condition?

Hi,

I am a professional dog walker. I take groups of dogs to local parks to play and frolic.

I have a beautiful old lab girl. She is divine. She has a enlarged heart which pushes up on her ribs, which can make it hard to breath. She can get very puffy easily. She also has wobbly back legs.

She comes out with me every day, obviously she isn’t up for a run – although she loves having and a outing in the car, visiting new parks, having a bit of a sniff and a sit down for the most of it. On bad days, she gets out of my car, walks 5 meters has a poo and a wee and wants to get back in to my car.

On good days (usually when the weather is much cooler) she will enjoy a light walk.

She will generally follow me around and be right at my side. On her bad days I literally have to sit down right next to her other wise she will push herself to hard to be with me.

My question is; on these good days – should I encourage her to exercise a little more? Would it be better for her to have a bit more of a walk when possible? Or would it cause more stress on her?

Ta.
She is under vet care.
omg – im not going to kill her. she is perfectly happy and enjoys her outings. He owner and I always talk about her outings and her health. Im just wondering if others might see a bit more exercise as of benefit or not.

This is a question to ask her vet. There are many kinds of heart disease and they can cause different reactions to exercise, so find out from the vet who is treating her condition what her limitations are. For most dogs, even those with heart disease, light exercise is advisable to keep their condition from declining further. But you should always consult the vet who is treating the condition before making any changes in her exercise patterns.

Most effective glute work outs. (Especially Gluteus Medius)?

I am 15, M. I’m pretty out of shape but I’ve been working out and seeing some real improvement in some of my body. The least imporvement is in my glutes, bally fat and inner thigh. So if you have any glute exercises and/or the other places i’d really appreciate it. I want them to be very effective. I’m committed and dedicated and am not expecting instant results. GIve me the best stuff!

Please no stupid answers like liposuction or Bulemia. Thank you so much!

Squats is the best lower body excersise. It works your glutes, quads, thighs, hamstrings, all in 1 go.

Place your feet shoulder width apart.
Keep your back fairly straight and your head level. Do this by watching your eyes in the mirror.
Now you can either just cross your arms, or the more effective method is to use a a bar with free weights attached and place it on your shoulders.
Now you have to lower yourself. Your knee should NOT jut out farther than your toes, and you upper leg should be parallel to the ground.
Then push yourself back up, using mostly your hell.

Lunges are also great, and do the seated leg press.

I need a way to make an additional $1200 a month from home. I need a real easy work at home job.?

Here is the deal: Yesterday was very very emotional and today was equally emotional. My wife and I are expecting our first child. We have been married 5 years and this came out of no where. We weren’t expected this at all. We are very happy but but but this has taken a huge toll on us the past few days. The reason I say this is that we are way way way over our head in debt and just cannot keep up with the bills. Right now it is just me and my wife and we have used up all of our savings and don’t have anything saved up. You see ever since moving to Arizona 5 years ago, I wanted to be self employed and not work for a boss. I never liked that and couldn’t stand a boss telling me what to do. So when we came to Arizona we decided to start a vending business and an ebay business. However both of these combined are not covering our bills and that is why we have been constantly digging into our saving that we used it all up. What I am trying to say is that the past couple of days after we found out that my wife is pregnant, our lives have been turned upside down. You see I am the type of guy that likes being self employed and being able to work whenever I want to and do whatever I like anytime I want to. That is the lifestyle that I love. I love freedom. My wife on the other hand is willing to work for a boss and willing to put in 40 + hours a week. She doesn’t mind that but again since moving out here to Arizona I wanted her to be by myside working side by side. Plus to make matter much worse I can’t drive. I never learned how to drive and never wanted to learn because of my phobia of driving. So my wife does all the driving and this will be jeopardized now with the baby coming and in Arizona you can’t go without a car. You see what I am saying.

Anyways this baby is a definitely a joy but I feel the huge financial burden. We are in deep trouble financially and I still want to stay self employed and not be forced to work for anyone.

Right now from my ebay and vending business that my wife and I do together we just net $1400 but our bills are a lot more than that each month and that is why we have been using up all of our savings.

Anyways I need a system that runs on autopilot and that makes like at least $1000 a month from home with the use of my computer. Does anyone know a system that is a true legit system that will do that for sure and would help me put it together.

I have searched and searched for legit dropshippers who I can use to list their inventory on ebay and profit from each item, but I haven’t found one legit dropshipper. They are all scammers and I even looked them up on the BBB and none of them were good. I am still sure there are legit ones out there. I need to find one with no fees and that will help me net an additional $1200 a month. All help will be appreciated. I need to start making money right now otherwise we are gonna be in deeper financial trouble and the baby is gonna suffer.

I would like to think that if you are enough of a man to be a father, you are enough of a man to provide for the child. Face it, you need to drive, and you need a real job. Keep the self employment stuff on the side, but get a real job. I know it’s hard in AZ right now, but you are a FATHER now. Grow up.
