Does anyone know of any great workout videos?

I am looking for something simple that shows results in,at most, a month. Please don’t recommend anything yoga. I’m looking to target my tummy area and lower body.
By the way I plan on getting this DVD package called The ultimate leg butt hip & thigh makeover by Joey Atlas does anyone have any comments on that.

Thanx

I would most definitely recommend Billy Blanks. He’s awesome and you see results in as little as seven days, no kidding. I’m not saying you’ll loose 15 pounds in seven days but you definitely see your body toning up and feel great. Try it. There’s really good packages that come with 5 dvds and it comes with bands and all. Really great. I’ve been doing working out with Billy videos for almost a year now and I love them. He’s awesome.

does anyone know some thigh workouts besides running? and some hip workouts for like love handles?

besides running because it doesnt help much and besides eating right?

…

Thigh and hip workouts. Hmmm. Two different kinds of workouts.

The thighs, to strengthen. The hip workouts, to lose.

Much is available for thigh workouts – plyometrics, the Strength Trilogy (Owen Anderson). My current favorite, the quick answer is: Spinning(c). Notice the (c) – this indicates a Spin class (essentially using a weighted exercycle – one with a 30-40 pound flywheel) conducted by a Mad Dogs athletics-certified Spin(c) instructor in a certified Spin(c) facility. Actually, these are pretty easy to find, park districts will offer these classes, and other athletic facilities will as well.

Now for the hips. More difficult. The problem is, the body just doesn’t tolerate spot-reducing. You’ve got to lose weight over an extended period of time, exercising and eating "right," to lose body fat, which you will lose, over time, in equal proportions across your entire body.

So . . . cardio activities, 40 minutes + a shot, daily. Some weight training to build muscle mass (which burns off calories faster than other body tissues). Running, of course, is good. So is Spinning, bicycling, and to a lesser extent, swimming.

Of course, you could go to liposuction, sucking out the cellulite from your hips. But that’s not really a good idea, and frankly doesn’t take care of the problem for good.

Regards,

Running_Dad

what are good exercises to work your legs at home without using machines?

By far, the two most important excercises that you can do for your legs are:
1. Squats
2. Deadlifts
IF YOU DONT DO SQUATS, YOU WILL NEVER EVER BE AN OVERALL STRONG PERSON. Squats work more muscles than any other exercise. Now, there are two ways to do squats. You can do hundreds (literally) of reps, or you can do them with weight (such as a barbell). Look at this website for info on how to do squats and deadlifts.
http://bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=Quadriceps

Also, a calf exercise such as step-ups would be a good idea. look on bodybuilding.com, it has GREAT advice and its definetly not just for serious bodybuilders, even though plenty of them use that website.

One thing that you cannot forget to do ist stretch, before or after (or best), both. If you don’t get flexible enough, you will increase your chances of getting hurt as you get stronger, and it will actualy be very painful getting stronger but not be flexible, trust me.
Finally, make sure that you do a light 10 minute cardio involving your legs before your workout, such as running, jogging, walking fast, bicycle, etc. Hope this helps!

Forgot to tell you, doing exercises like squats and deadlifts releases HUGE amounts of testosterone into your body, which not only helps your legs grow, it helps all ofyour other muscles grow too.

What are some good exercises to help slim down your legs?

I want to slim my thighs mainly, as I get quite self concious at school.

Can anyone give me some excersise tips, that i can do in my house please?
Uhh. No Lipo for me thanks. xD
Anywho, i’m only 16.
I’ll try everything there (apart from the Lipo)
Thanks a lot guys 🙂

I would say bicycling, it not only slims your legs but tones them as well.

How can I tone my legs quickly and not build bulk?

I already walk everyday for an hour and eat healthy. I’m not fat, I would just like to firm my legs up. I heard lunges and squats are good, but I also heard they build bulk, which is what I don’t want. Are there any leg exercises I can do to tone up but not bulk up? If so, how many a day should I do?

Strength training exercise for your legs will not build bulk into your legs.

Instead, a proper leg workout will build beautiful lean muscle mass into them, giving them leaner and sleeker shapes and forms.

I’ve work out my legs based on this strength training routine
for my legs: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/leg-workouts.html

Workout all 3 sections of your legs: hamstrings, calves and quadriceps; 3-4 times per week for 10-15 minutes per session. You’ll see results in about 6-8 weeks.

If you go to the swimming pool and just use floats and kick your legs, is it still great exercise?

I’m the human equivalent of a house brick.
To bluebook…..no I am not disabled you repulsive little boy,I just can’t swim and with vocabulary like yours I’d be willing to learn just to hold you under.Prat.

Absolutely Yes. You still get the benfits of cardio and legs doing this type of exercise. It is called water aerobics.

i want to lose weight what exercise can i do with back injuries knee arm and leg pain?

I have soft tissue damage to upper back and arms also pain to both legs hips and knees I also have high blood pressure I desperately need to lose weight what exercises can I do.Please help me.I am 60 years young.

Eat a lot of green to dark green vegetables, and do light tai chi and yoga… light meaning, stay seated and hold your stomach in as tightly as you can then work those muscles without holding your breath. lift your legs slowly while sitting as many times as you can without straining them it may be once or twice but movement will eventually make you feel a little better…see your doctor also

what is a good way to work out your glutes?

i used to run back in middle school/highschool but ever since i went to college, i haven’t really done much exercise and im wondering what are some good exercises for getting a firm butt and nice legs?? thanks!

a very easy way to tighten your glutes is riding a bike. Also squats and running are always very good to get tighter. don’t forget to stretch and don’t over do it because you want to burn fat and not build muscle persay.

Easy & effective work-outs at home?

OK…I need to do something at home that’s fairly easy. I walk almost every night, but not too fast as I’m pushing a stroller with my almost 2 year old son in it. I do NOT have ANY weights or any other type of work-out equipment. I do get to the gym on average 2x per week and do about 30 minutes of cardio when I’m there…it’s just not enough. I get discouraged easily when I feel like I bust my butt and don’t see results.

So…any tips on what I can do at home that’s effective and relatively quick at giving results?

Thanks!!

Pilates!!!

I need to lose about 60lbs more (It was 80, i managed to lose 20, now i’m stuck though)

When I dont have time to go to the gym, or when i have spare time, I rent a pilates video from the library (its free) and I do the workouts.
Its basically just stretching/strength, but you dont need anything but your body and the floor. (And a tv/dvd player)

Its fairly easy and can be done sometimes in about 10 minutes (if you pick a 10 minute workout video). Many say that doing pilates alone helps them get into great shape etc… In my opinion its a nice complement to other exercise routines. And you feel great after you do it.

good luck.
