On wednesday i worked out my lower body which is my legs and i work out my calves, forearms, and abs everyday(except sundays). the next day(thursday) my legs were sore (not my calves) like my quads and glutes and i worked out my upper body(chest, arms, abs, and calves) and my legs were still sore. Now today my upper body isn’t sore much but my legs still are and i don’t know what to workout today. Should i work out my legs anyway or should i workout my upper body,or should i just do abs, legs, and forearms. i also do HIIT(high intensity interval training)everyday(except sundays) and sometimes on weekends i do regular cardio for 40-60 minutes. Please help and tell me what to workout today should i do lower body, upper, abs, forearms, and calves or just HIIT.THX!
BTW im only 13 if that matters.
No. If your muscles are sore that is a sign that they are still recovering from your last workout. It usually take 72 hrs for muscles to FULLY recover. Lets say you work biceps and the next day they are sore, if you work them out again all your doing is breaking down the muscle tissue even more without giving it time to heal AND grow.

You can, but you might consider a lighter workout. Giving you muscles proper time to heal will yeild the best results. You still can exercise the muscles, just don’t continue to really break them untill they are fully healed.
By the way, great initiative for a 13 year old. That is impressive.

You shouldn’t be working out to the point where they are that sore to begin with. Studies have shown that a complete breakdown of muscle like you are doing when you are sore for days is worse that if you did a lighter workout. Do a little less, with lighter weights. If you work them to where you are sore for less than 24 hours. You will make gains much faster. You are also less likely to get injured.
