Do wearing high heel shoes work out your thighs & calves?

Do wearing high heel shoes work out your thighs & calves?

I have noticed that all the ladies at my job that wear high heels more than once or twice a week have great legs/glutes. Is this an exercise that us girlies dont realize we’re doing? I know it takes a minute or two to position your self correctly when walking in them….

I think you might have something. All the women I know that were high heels have great calf’s, legs and gluts. Put on a pair and look at the back of your legs the muscles come out.

I know going to the gym or exercising at home is the best but if it helps then why not, just make sure the heel is not to high that you hurt yourself in them

I think it does help calves but it also shortens your achilles tendon which is why women tend to have more problems there then men.

They do but from long term wear. But don’t count on it as the ONLY way to develop your calves because heels are also bad for your feet.

yes but not unless you wear them constantly, and it depends on the height of the shoe really

I don’t think so – they really just hurt your feet unless you have some really expensive ones and even still they really do more damage than good…..

when you wear high heel shoes your legs look a bit different because they are standing different – your legs are flexed because your feet are in a different position…..

doing simple leg work outs with out high heels on will help you shape the legs the way you want.

You know I was just thinking about the same thing the other day. I have pretty good strength in my legs in general, but I wear heels to work probably 3-4 days a week & definately have some sore feet after work, so I’m sure it’s some kind of work out.

I also know that wearing hells is not good for your joints & feet however because they are always in a bent position. Who knows… I wear them for style, professionalism, & sit at a desk 3/4 of the day anyways. I def. would not consider it any form of actual exercise tho.
