This is a DC Permanent Magnet Motor used as a generator. The GRID TIE INVERTER is a SPECIAL INVERTER that can attach to your grid and back power your house reducing the electrons you get from the power company. THIS IS NOT A REGULAR INVERTER, do not rig a regular inverter to your grid our you can croak. Also this answerS THE QUESTION AGAIN ABOUT BLACK OUTS AND GRID TIE INVERTERS. They cannot back power during an outage, Electronics prevent this and need voltage detection to work.

I sat on a bike and put my foot on a bathroom scale at pedal height. On average pedal I managed to push 35 kg. I then counted how fast you where pedaling here and it 1 rev per second – calculating power with a 200mm long crank gives 439 Watts of mechanical power. Its sad to see that you loose so much when you convert it to AC – but I do like the idea – try going straight from the bike to the treadmill motor with DC or batteries. Inverters suck when it comes to efficiency.

I must say i always had been a little leary of all the hype happening around solar. After taking a look at quite a lot of programs and purchase options we chose to take the plunge. We wound up getting solar without having money down and we immediatly started spending less the very first month is was installed. I must say that the features of solar look like real and I am very happy we decide to proceed with it.
