What are some exercises to really firm up my legs and butt?

I have been dieting for an eternity it seems like and am down to a size 6 pant size – BUT- I noticed it seems like my top half is smaller than my bottom- I don’t want to lose anymore weight because it seems I always lose it in my chest and I don’t want to lose my D cups- LOL – to be totally honest- I really really want to get some awesome legs and a nice A** and keep what I got up on top??? Any suggestions for how I’m suppose to do this- I’m 5’9" and 142 lbs- so I don’t want to lose weight- just firm what I got…. (Oh I should mention too- that I have 2 rods in my back from spinal surgery when I was 16 so I have to be careful anyway working out) THANKS to all who reply!!!!

Congrats on the size 6 pants!!!

Sensible eating with portion control and exercise is the key. Eat fruit and vegetables as well as lean protein.

A while back I got bored just using my treadmill so starting doing lunges and squats and it was amazing how quickly both items you mentioned, tightened up.

Most of all don’t give up.

Always have regular check-ups with your doctor- especially in your case wth the rods in your back.

To tone and firm up the body, diet and exercise are the key.

Eat properly and you can try 6 smaller meals a day. Then, vary your meals accordingly. Listen to your body. Increase you protein intake especially if you have a difficult recovery time after workouts.

Workouts should have weights and circuit type of training. But, check with your doctor since you have rods in your back. Dumb bells are great because you can use light ones and still get a great workout. You can try dumbbell squats with shoulder presses. Here is a great and effective circuit training using a treadmill. Walk for 2 minutes (as a warm-up), jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, then jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, etc…do this for about 20-23 minutes. This works great.

This is just a start. Keep working out and eating properly.

    Good Luck.

Dumbbell squats & lunges. Let your arms hang at your sides with the DB’s in hand.

Also, try 1 legged bridges. Lie on your back, knees bent, feet flat on floor. Place right foot(ankle) on left thigh. Raise your hips & back off the ground as high as you can. Squeeze your glutes & hold for 5-6 seconds. Do 10 reps each leg, 2-3 sets

    Hi–

One of the best things you can do to firm up your legs and gluteus maximums is walking.

If you really want to firm them up you can do slow motion squats. Jorge Cruise has good instructions on that. Just search his name on google.

Be aware that you will be gaining muscle in those areas if you workout so you will look firm but probably won’t lose much weight. ( Muscle weighs)

If you want to lose weight just cut carbs. It is that simple. Be responsible and don’t go crazy trying to eat zero carbs but you have to cut the cookies and chips.

Finally, you might have to lighten up a bit on your desire to keep the D cup through weight. Sure, it’s a nice assett but you’ve probably got a lot going for you in other areas.

    Onward and upward
