I have been working out for a couple years now and have lost just under 40lbs but now I want to gain muscle in my legs and my glutes to have a more toned look. I am doing different floor exercises for my hips and glutes but don’t seem to get any results. What is the best way to go about gaining the muscle? How mant reps and what exercises are best? Etc?
Olympic Squat for quads
Low bar squats for glutes and hammies
Deadlifts for gluets
Rack deadlifts for glutes
Bulgarian squats for glutes
What are some excersises I can do with dumbells that work out my glutes, calfs, lats and trapezius muscles? Also what are some cardio excersies I can do indoors without any machines or skipping rope?
legs: squats, lunges, box jumps, calf raises
back: reverse flys, rows, pull ups if you can
cardio: look up insanity. its a home cardio workout
I worked out for a half hour last night.
20 min on a treadmill – speed walking on an incline
10 min on a stair-stepper – working glutes & thighs at a pretty good resistance
I could DEF. feel the burn! That stair-stepper about kicked my butt so I was sure id be sore today. Its the first time ive worked out in a few months too but im just not sore.
Do I need to work out longer / harder next time or is it still being effective?
you should feel a burning sensation straight after the workout but it is not good to be sore the next day. if you feel like you pushed yourself very far doing the workout itself then it was probably effective.
It doesnt matter if a female has a big butt or small…..
Hard, athletic butts are not attractive and they dont feel good.
Soft ones are much better
i love my big booty some women are you not please what they got .that why women dostuff to they body that they know they shouldnt

IMO, with cardio it’s all about burning the calories. You don’t need to feel sore.
It’s with weights that you want to feel sore….. because when you’re not sore any more, your body has adapted to your routine.
My butt is a nice size right now but big but not to small. I’m scared working out my glutes will make my butt smaller. I just want to lift and tone, any ideas on exercises. OTHER then the norm. lunges squats, squat jumps.
Sorry, unfortunately short of surgical procedures and the like you need to do the hard work. As alternatives to lunges, squats and squat jumps you could try stiff leg deadlifs & pelvic lifts/bridging or walking with small weights up a hill/incline on a treadmill or using a rowing machine (the last two options also give you ). The way to ‘lift’ and maintain your butt size is to build a bit of muscle while losing a bit of fat (you won’t get big and bulky). Aim for 3 – 4sets of 15 – 25reps of the weights and 30 – 45mins of the cardio exercises.
Good luck hope this helps.
Two days ago, I did a full body work out. Quads, glutes, biceps, triceps, deltoids, pectorals, trapezius, and abdominals. I always do every single one of these, except pecs and whatever muscle you use when you do squats. So naturally, a day after I did these, the back of my thighs and my pecs were extremely sore. Do you think I’ll be able to work out today, two days after my last workout?
I think I forgot to mention I’m still really sore. But I’m going to work out anyway.
I am told you should work out a maximum of every 48 to 72 hours with weightlifting for a muscle group
I would suggest waiting 24 more more hours before doing a workout, however you can walk and stretch and help remove the lactic acid from your legs this might remove soreness and if it does you can probably lift today.
Some people alternate arms and legs
I’ve been working out 4 to 5 times a week since I was 13, but back then I did hardly any cardio because I had practically no fat on my body. I’m now 17, so in addition to muscle building and toning I also do 30 minuets on the treadmill, because I can no longer eat whatever I want without it showing. I used to have a really high, tight, muscle butt but lately I’ve been noticing its starting to get kinda loose and flabby. I never use the elliptical because I always thought it was just for girls and for really overweight guys who couldn’t handle the treadmill. Lately however I’ve noticed some guys using the elliptical, and just the way the elliptical looks it seems like it would work your glutes pretty good. If I start using the elliptical in addition to treadmill (like maybe 2 days a week) will that help me get my butt back?
The eliptical will be great, but the recumbant cycle wil be amazing.

It depends on the incline and whether you are pedaling forward or backward. Many machines will show which muscle group is being worked on the graphics, but I believe pedaling backwards at moderate and high inclines will work your glutes.
also, does a stationary bike that doesn’t have resistance to it burn a good bit of calories.? Does the stationary bike work all of the leg muscles and firm and or build them up too? Anyone have any experience with this subject? Thanks
It won’t help you burn many calories if it doesn’t have any resistance. If you add the resistance, yes, it will firm up and tone the leg muscles and burn a lot of calories if you ride hard enough. It will strengthen the legs, but you shouldn’t "bulk up" from riding.
