Please help me with this question !!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!?
im 13, and iv been lifting for about 3 years now ,,and i need to get my legs stronger so i did some great legs exercises friday and drunk 2 scoops of my WHEY PROTEIN(68gs) of protein and i did my arms saturday and drunk 2 scoops of whey,,,Well her it is sunday and im still very very sore can some one tell me what i can do to help speed up the muscle recovery speed please!!! I worried because we run tomorrow a practice and i her it can mess up the muscle growth if you are using that sore muscle Group
If you’re extremely sore, try getting a muscle relaxant like Orphenadrine citrate prescribed to you. I don’t know by what brand name it comes in your place.
Aside from apartment regulation, would it be appropriate to have a Great Dane in an apartment?
My aunt used to have one while living in an apartment. She said it was calm enough, though very big, to be living in an apartment, so long he got his exercise.
Great Danes are pretty calm and mellow as adults. And some people say that they are excellent indoor dogs because of this, big or not. But they have long legs…
Is this fair, even with exercise?
I LOVE this breed and have been wanting it for a long time. But I’m not going to get one if it isn’t fair to the dog…
Some people say it’s ok, some don’t.
What do you think?
Danes actually don’t do much. Biggest requirement for a dane is an extra couch.
Squats, lunges, butt lifts… If you have cable look at the channel fit tv. If not, then look up fit tv on the web, and view the show Gilad total work outs, there it shows samples of his videos and shows, copy from him… He REALLY works you out.
Start out w/ sets of 3 (8 times each) for each leg, then work you way up for each type of exercise.
I know this question may sound stupid, but I was wondering if maybe, because in Irish dancing you only move the lower part of your body and not your hips or arms, will it make me seem stiff or make me not be able to dance say jazz, hiphop, belly dancing or even just club dancing?
Also, how much exercise is it? I heard you get great leg exercise , is this also true but the butt?
I know, sounds stupid, but I love the Irish dancers and would absolutely love to learn how, but I’m afraid of the dancing-other-things thing and about the amount of exercise.. will it be good for my body (legs and butt?) Any of you experienced Irish Dancers out there care to share their experiences? Or even beginners?
thanks!
I am a a classic dancer. I do ballroom, irish step dancing, and ballet. I originally did Irish stepdancing, then branched out to Jazz and hip-hop and things like that. It’s great to start with, because personally, I think the feet movements are the hardest to master, and Irish step dancing is mostly legs, so it helps. It’s an amazing workout for your legs, knees, butt, and thighs.
Obviously, as you see im very small for my age. I play soccer, run track, and run cross country for my Middle school team, and so i have great leg muscles, but no arm muscles. I always feel weak around my friends. I have contemplated whether or not i should stick to running, ab workouts, and curls, or start dead lifting. If you have any advice, i’ll be happy to hear it. The truth hurts, so be cruel and honest. I’ll man up and take it =)
In addition to the above answer, do bicep curls, lateral raises and front raises, tricep dips and shoulder shrugs. That combination should strengthen all major muscles of the shoulders and arms (in addition to the back and chest from the pushups and pullups).
If you don’t have any weights to work with, you can improvise by putting heavy stuff in a backpack or bag, using a bathroom scale to see how much it weighs. All you need for tricep dips are a scale. Please go here http://www.acefitness.org/exerciselibrary/default.aspx
to see the proper form for all of the exercises, proper form is essential.
Start with light weights.
It sucks, but at your age I don’t think you’ll grow to be very tall, and a large component in strength is size (bigger people are stronger). So chances are you’ll never be stronger than your friends, but you can still become very strong for your height.
I am pacing myself to do exercises and maintaining healthy for the summer and continue.
School starts on August, and by the begin of school i would like to have some what thicker legs or thighs perhaps.
as notice (Lunges and squats) will be the perfect exercise to have those great legs and thighs.. not to mention great looking buns too!
So if i start today how long till i start seeing results?
If so how many lunges and squats should i be doing a day?
Thank you every answer will be very helpful and i appreciate all those who take their time response.
Try doing 3 sets of 20 each. Do them slow and controlled. Two seconds down, two seconds up. Make sure you use PERFECT form.
You should notice results in about a week, and if you keep doing them regularly, your legs will look better and better each week after that.
something other than crunches it hurt my back need to firm legs and abs for summer. need rountine that is good for men and women
Go to sparkpeople.com I will put a link down in Sources. It’s a great free membership. No strings attached, you have to check it out! Good Luck!
I am a teen (15 years old) and am wondering how i can get great looking legs. My legs aren’t bad though I am actually comfortable with them I am skinny but you can see muscle behind my thighs and calf but still I want to increase a bit of volume maybe even gain some fat? Well I want to wear lots of dresses and skirts this spring and am already working out. Anybody have any diet or exercise ideas? If its possible also some for my arms. But other than that I love my abs and my shape. Thanks!!!
You’re in luck, Jennifer. People who ask the opposite of what you asked are looking for "spot reduction," which doesn’t exist…but adding size to a certain area DOES exist. Fat…well, you can’t tell where the fat will go. That’s up to your body. But you can add size to your legs with muscle. Here are some leg exercises for you to do:
Squats
Deadlifts
Sissy Squats (not for sissies!)
Sumo Squat
Lunge
Rear Lunge
Walking Lunge
Calf Raises
While you’re at it, throw in the Power Clean. It’s an Olympic Lift, and those are fabulous for adding size and strength all over. At the end of this answer, I added some youtube links so you can see how to do these. There are many people that will post their stuff on youtube trying to be Mr. or Ms. Cool Personal Trainer, but the problem is that not all of these are shown correctly. I looked up ones that I thought were the most informative so you know how to do these. Like any exercise, if you don’t use proper form, you will end up hurting yourself…or at least not seeing the results you could.
For all of these, start without weights so you can get the movement down. For the Power Clean and Deadlift, use just the bar without weights added. This lets you feel the movement. Once you get used to the positioning, then you can start adding in weights.

I really want to lose weight and I want to start exercising. I want to know what exercises are best to lose most weight from legs, thighs and stomach? Also, I would like to know how I can lose the weight and not get any flab. I want to end up with great legs. Any suggestions?
I like to walk so where would I lose weight the most by walking? How does walking help?
If it helps, I am 17 years old and I am tall enough for my age. I am not sure how much I weigh now because I haven’t checked but I think from last time I checked I am about 145 pounds so as you can see I really need to lose weight and I would like to lose it soon. I would like get down to at least 100 pounds. I am in my last year of high school and would like to lose all this weight by the time I graduate. Any suggestions?
good god, "at least 100 pounds" ? that’s unrealistic and dangerous. that’s almost a third of your body weight going away! christ…
anyway to answer your question – I’m all about being fit! – you absolutely cannot spot-reduce. you can’t do certain exercises to lose weight in certain areas, it just gets taken off all around.
so anything that burns energy in general – walking, cardio, swimming, dancing, sports like tennis & soccer, gymnastics
pilates and yoga are great, also you can lift weights (don’t worry it won’t make you bulky, trust me, that’s very hard to do on PURPOSE, much less on accident)
lifting weights will have the additional benefit of toning up your muscles underneath the skin, which helps to reduce "flab" like you want. at 17 and 145 though, I wouldn’t worry too much about your skin – it should contract very easily to accommodate the new size.
since you like to walk, that is an awesome way to get good exercise that’s easy on your body and will burn fat.
my suggestions:
(1) pick something you enjoy. if you don’t, you won’t stick to it. walking seems good for you since you said you like it.
(2) nutrition, nutrition! remember that your body NEEDS certain things, don’t let it down with crazy restrictions or anything. but also don’t eat too many sugary foods. if you eat proper meals with vegetables, fruit, etc., your body SHOULD get all the nutrients it needs, and therefore you won’t have cravings for junk food as much. bottom line: eat healthy, and this does NOT mean starve yourself!
(3) you won’t see results immediately! keep at it! and why don’t you make this a longer goal? walking isn’t just good for losing weight, you’ll be much more energetic and feel better if you keep it up.
(4) IMPORTANT!! Get a friend to do this with you, if at all possible – it helps SO MUCH to have someone with you, because you can keep each other motivated. Also makes those long walks more enjoyable!
Good luck, and please. Check a BMI (body mass index) calculator, or better yet a doctor, so you can find a good weight for yourself. 100 is only healthy if you’re short and have a small frame. it’s very very light, and I doubt it’s healthy for you personally.
I’m too thin (98lbs 5’5,16yo)what exercises and foods will work for great legs and bubble butt.
If your answer is squats, how many reps and sets and how many days a week? I should start seeing results within a month or so?
p.s.I have no equipments
*Do lunges walking forward carrying weight.
*Do lunges to the back (not walking) and push yourself forward (also called reverse lunges).
*When/if you do squats, don’t just go down and come all the way up, instead go down and pulse (bounce) till your legs burn, then come up, wait 30 seconds and do it again.
*Go on your hands and knees, lift your right leg out with your knee at 90 degrees (bottom of foot facing ceiling), and push your foot up towards the ceiling. Do this till it burns, switch legs.
*I get a bubble but by jogging, you could try that.
**Never work out the same body part 2 days in a row, your muscles need a rest. What I do is cardio/upper and chest/cardio/lower/cardio or rest day/upper and back.
